• Bainbridge, North Yorkshire (formerly in the kingdom of Wessex)

• Bob believes in magic, and many higher powers.  He could be defined as Pagan, but avoids the term.

• Grimoires written in Bob’s handwriting tend to be almost indecipherable by modern readers.

His formal hand has aged a little better, mainly because Hollywood has kept the blackletter shapes more familiar.

Either way, his writing tends to be very neat, with tidy margins– the legacy of learning to write at a time before lined paper, and when literacy was a luxury.

• When Bob died to rid the world of Justin Morningway, he wasn’t entirely sure what would happen.

Of course, he knew there was a chance that he would return to his skull– once curse, always cursed, his soul unable to move on–

But equally likely that he would die.  Properly, and permanently.

He’s not entirely sure how he feels about the outcome.  But it’s easier to let Harry be happy, and relieved, and ignorant of how close he came to losing Bob.

• Harry used to ask Bob to check under the bed for monsters.

Not often… But sometimes his overactive imagination got the better of him.

Bob always checked (with a little long suffering eye rolling, just to keep up appearances).

Because even if they weren’t hiding under the bed, monsters were real.

(It always felt a little hypocritical, when he was supposed to be one of them.)

BIOGRAPHY

In life, Bob/Hrothbert of Bainbridge was a powerful sorcerer and was the author of several grimoires during his lifetime, most of which where filled with some dangerous stuff.

Hrothbert fell in love with a woman, another skilled sorceress, by the name of Winifred. When she was killed, he could not bear to live without her so he decided to bring her back by using black magic. When the High Council found out, they condemned him to be ghost-trapped in his own skull for eternity, unable to interact with the world in any physical way. He died in 900A.D. in England.

As a spirit trapped in his own skull, Bob was passed from wizard to wizard down the centuries due to the fact that he was well versed in the arts of magic.  (x)
