•  Shion's biological father is Parker Kyle, now a Vice Admiral in Starfleet. He doesn't know about Shion, and Shion doesn't know his name, nor does he have any particular interest in meeting him. 

​

•  He has a real love of Earth music, especially the 40's big band and 50s jazz. When he's working in his quarters, he often has Sinatra, Miles Davis, or Glenn Miller playing. 

​

•  Has been writing holodeck programs since he was nine. They weren't very good, and he sincerely hopes they have all been deleted! But he stuck with it, and now has quite a fan following. It's a hobby, but a fun one.

​

•  His favourite holodeck program is a 1940's film noire, private detective pulp. He plays Jack Jones, a rough and capable private detective with a knack for attracting trouble.

​

•  Shion is a surprisingly good cook. But he refuses to cook simple things, finding them boring- so when he does go into the kitchen, it's always something elaborate and fun. 

​

•  The only reason he knows how, is because Io let slip once that he appreciates being cooked for. Three bouts of food poisoning later, (mercifully only inflicted on himself!) and Shion started to get the hang of it. 

​

•  Has an uncanny ability to hear when machinery (everything from toasters to starships!) is out of alignment, or having difficulties. It can, and has, woken him out of a dead sleep, and he can't rest again until it's fixed. 

​

•  Shion has no luck at dabo- but he's a regular around the dart board, and plays a mean hand of Terran poker! 

​

•  His birthday is early in the summer, just when things are starting to get hot in Betazed (Earth equivalent, June 28th) 

​

•  He doesn't collect a lot of material things, and often travels from one posting to the next with little more than his pack, and a single case (chiefly holding his personal tools). 

​

•  His favourite colour is green, and though he doesn't often stop to smell the flowers, he finds it reassuring to know that he can. If he spends too long cooped up in his workshop, he tends to get moody. 

​

•  Shion is not a morning person. He's barely human until he's had a cup of coffee, a shower, and at least an hour to wake up. 

​

•  Can't play chess to save his life. And in the 100+ games he's played with Io, he's lost every one, save one. And that one he suspects Io lost on purpose! 

​

•  - Is more than a little flambouyant and charming. He doesn't mind playing the fool if it makes people laugh. This often comes as a shock to people who only knew him before he came out of his shell! 

​

•  Has a soft spot for little kids, and can be convinced to romp around with them. 

​

•  Shion started thinking of Io as his Imzadi when they had been together a year. It took him another 6 months to say it.
